Fast cooling in dispersively and dissipatively coupled optomechanics
The cooling performance of an optomechanical system comprising both dispersive and dissipative coupling is studied. Here, we present a scheme to cool a mechanical resonator to its ground state in finite time using a chirped pulse. We show that there is distinct advantage in using the chirp-pulse scheme to cool a resonator rapidly. The cooling behaviors of dispersively and dissipatively coupled ...
متن کاملEvolutions in typesetting systems
Using text previewers to browse code and documentation has uncovered some of the basic limitations of classical typesetting systems. Problems arise from the use of embedded markup, the reliance on context-free grammars, and monolithic typesetter design. Some aspects of each of these problems are discussed. A typesetter architecture is proposed that does not require markup or grammars, and that ...
متن کاملMulti-Frame Vectors for Unitary Systems in Hilbert $C^{*}$-modules
In this paper, we focus on the structured multi-frame vectors in Hilbert $C^*$-modules. More precisely, it will be shown that the set of all complete multi-frame vectors for a unitary system can be parameterized by the set of all surjective operators, in the local commutant. Similar results hold for the set of all complete wandering vectors and complete multi-Riesz vectors, when the surjective ...
متن کاملStability Theory for Dissipatively Perturbed Hamiltonian Systems
It is shown that for an appropriate class of dissipatively perturbed Hamiltonian systems, the number of unstable modes of the dynamics linearized at a nondegenerate equilibrium is determined solely by the index of the equilibriumregarded as a critical point of the Hamiltonian. In addition, the movement of the associated eigenvalues in the limit of vanishing dissipation is analyzed.
